Afternoon Tea at Fleming’s Hotel

Afternoon Tea at Fleming’s Hotel

“If I had a world of my own, everything would be nonsense. Nothing would be what it is, because everything would be what it isn’t. And contrary wise, what is, it wouldn’t be. And what it wouldn’t be, it would. You see?”
― Lewis CarrollAlice’s Adventures in Wonderland & Through the Looking-Glass

Had a magical day at Fleming’s hotel last week. They serve a wonderful Afternoon Tea, designed by Shaun Rankin. We arrived and were escorted into their tea room which is a lovely hidden room just off their lobby. This beautiful room is bright with sun cascading through the windows and soft curtains. We had a table beside the book shelf and the fireplace. Sitting on luxurious green velvet chairs beside a wall of books of art, architecture, fashion, films all by Assouline, the luxury book publisher. The combination of the beauty and culture evoked emotion and made us feel extremely relaxed right away. We were taken care of by the amazing staff. Immediately we were served tea. I choose a black tea which I sipped as we waiting for our food. The three tiered tea tray was delicious and delicate for only £34. I think we will be coming back to this whimsical room for a quick escape from the buzzing of the city for a moment of serenity and peace.
