Thinking big with JB Gill

We like to think outside the box. Recently, a long-standing client called us their ideas factory, which is a huge compliment.

Our strengths lie in being completely engaged in our clients and what they do. We are able to deliver creative solutions to reach the communities and audiences that matter to them.

Several years ago, I commissioned an interview of popstar-turned-farmer, JB Gill, for the country sports supplement of Country and Town House. We kept in touch. What struck me was what an intelligent and thoughtful man he was. It was obvious JB has always given his all into his projects, realizing that hard work and dedication is vital to success.

JB has progressively become more dedicated to farming. He owns a smallholding in Kent where he lives with his wife, Chloe, and Ace, their adorable Arsenal-supporting toddler. The farm is quiet at the moment apart from Ginger the pig and a few more to keep her company and a couple of chickens. The Kelly Bronze turkeys were a huge success just in time for Christmas and JB held his first Christmas Farm Festival, where he welcomed many of the local residents to see what he does.

JB’s management company, Electric Management, approached us to help with his PR as he settles into the farming way of life. This, for us, was a dream come true. Seeing the bigger picture and pulling all of the pieces together, to ensure JB is reaching the right audience, is exactly what we specialize in.

This week proved our unrivalled ability to build trusted networks to achieve the long-term goal: positioning JB as an authority on deer farming and venison and as an ambassador for food education.

We were taken to Richard Savory’s deer farm, followed by the esteemed deer park at Houghton Hall, in Norfolk, with accomplished chef and venison master, Jose Souto. A truly magical place, Houghton is famed for having the largest herd of white fallow deer in the country. On our tour of the estate we were also fortunate enough to spot the diverse and exotic species.

Leading us on the tour was Julian Stoyles, one of the finest deer experts in the UK. A good friend of Jose’s, Julian manages a herd of some 500 fallow deer on the estate.

The Telegraph are covering the story, and JB’s first ever stalking trip, for the magazine. Drawing in our trusted network of key brands and contacts, Harkila very kindly gave JB the ultimate stalking kit and we travelled up in style in a Subaru Forester.

JB loves the classic country look and, as such, has been strongly supported by Orvis. Complementing his country attire, Ted Baker has kindly dressed JB in a number of stylish outfits for a subtle, urban edge.

JB looked sharp in a Ted Baker outfit at Westminster Kingsway College earlier this week on his venison butchery and cookery course with venison legend Jose Souto. Jose wrote the definitive book on venison, ‘Venison: The Game Larder’ and is passionate about passing on his skills. Several publications are covering different aspects of JB’s journey into venison, all of which are at the very highest level when it comes to food and lifestyle.

Social media was abuzz all day and the students seemed to be delighted to have JB visiting their college.

We are so looking forward to our journey with JB and Electric Management. It’s going to be ‘farmtastic’!
